SUBJECT :   INITIAL LAUNCH OF THE FRANCHISIFNG SCHEME IN SPECIFIED URBAN AREAS. 

           In consonance with the 10th Plan policy imperatives, an innovative method has been conceived by the Department for providing better access to postal counter services by opening franchised outlets in areas where a post office cannot be opened as per departmental norms.  

           The scheme has been approved by the Hon’ble MoC & IT for launch.  This scheme also figures in the Prime Minister’s Thrust Areas.  The scheme has been launched through DDG (E&PN) D.O. letter of even number from 1.2.07 in 100 identified locations of specified Circles.  The following orders are hereby issued for immediate implementation of the scheme.
